For anyone who has been in the cigar world for a number of years – the Henry Clay brand may have reminded you of something your dad or grandpa may have smoked. A staple of many ‘old timers’ the brand just didn’t get the attention that it once had.
Insert Pete Johnson of Tatuaje Cigars and a facelift to the Henry Clay namesake took place. A collaboration cigar called Henry Clay Tattoo picked up a lot of attention and the followup cigar, Stalk Cut, received a 92 rating.
The third to be announced, Henry Clay Rustic Cheroot is a dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with Honduran Broadleaf binder and a mixture of Dominican leaf including a Honduran Capa Dura – a secondary leaf that grows once the tobacco has already been harvested from the stalk. Dark, rich and full of flavor and body comes only in a Pantela for a quick and robust smoke.
